Farm Wife Devotions: NEVER!!!!

It's probably true that my hubby is taking the loss of our crops at the South Farm better than I am. He sees crops, money, and energy lost. Me? I, in true female form, I see those losses, plus loss with deeper meaning. For example, the loss of combine time with my girls and the loss of sharing the excitement of harvest as a family.

I will be honest. I don't handle waiting and things being up in the air well. It's hard enough to wait until harvest to see how many bushels per acre we've gotten. But this year, it is about waiting to find out what the insurance adjuster decides and probably "carrying it until harvest" to see what it'll yield.

So when I read this verse during one of my morning devotions, it jumped out at me! Read it one more time with me!

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Originally, this verse was talking to God's people the Isrealites about their enemies, but I think it can be applicable for Christians today. The word that really jumped out at me was "never"! He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. There are plenty of situations during farming where one could think, that maybe God has forsaken you, but He clearly states He will NEVER leave us or forsake us.

If He asks to go through a hard time, He will be there with us. He won't make us go through it alone. During hard times He asks us to be strong and courageous and I would add that we are to find our strength and courage in Him.

This song also spoke to me and I hope it touches your heart as well!

Will you pray for our family as we seek Him for strength and courage?

I'd love to pray for you! Do you have a situation in which you are drawing courage and strength from God?

Share it below and I will will pray for you as well!
