Dill Pickle Roast


This is my most favorite way to make a roast. It is also a recipe that my grandma made and then gave me!

Today I want to share it with you!


4-5# (7 bone with marbling) Chuck Roast

1 large chopped onion

1 cup chopped dill pickle

1 cup golden mushroom soup

1 can of water

2 cloves of garlic or 2 tsp of garlic powder

Season the roast with seasoned salt and brown in a very hot pan. Then place into a crock put with the rest of the ingredients. Turn on low. Cook until it falls apart (usually about 8 hours). Enjoy thoroughly!


Notes: I have made it with cream of mushroom soup as pictured in this post. It was great, but is best with golden mushroom soup. We prefer dried minced onion instead of fresh. I just eye ball that amount! The juices that are in the pot at the end of cooking are delicious for a homemade gravy!
